Planning a birthday party can be stressful and time consuming. Sometimes you don’t know where to start. To begin with, we got together with a group of friends to give Claudia a great birthday present, as she had had a difficult year. In the end we decided to spend a weekend in Porto!

We spent many hours searching the internet for everything. On the one hand, the tickets, on the other hand the accommodation and activities to do. For that reason, we decided to take a complete package where they provided everything and gave me a very good feeling. The way forward is to hire a professional local agency. The reviews were very good and we chose henpartynight.

I really liked the location of the accommodation. It was a flat for the 5 friends we were going to, which was on Aliados Avenue. It was right in the middle of everything so we could visit the beautiful city with an incredible tour. We visited the wine cellars on the Douro River. Besides tasting their wines with tapas. On the other hand, at the end of the wine tour we went to the other side of the river for a 2-hour walk in the Douro. The weather was great and we took a lot of pictures with wonderful views.

Let’s arrive at the flat at 5pm. We had an intense day full of emotions. Let’s rest a bit and get ready for dinner. We wanted to have traditional Portuguese food for dinner. We chose some varied tapas to taste all the possible flavours such as “pataniscas, francesinhas, chouriço assado, moelas etc…” Fabulous!

It was a very different taste to our meals. For that reason, we wanted to know more about the Portuguese culture. And a birthday party is not total without the party!

After dinner we made a bar crawl to be in contact with other groups, to see the bars of the old town and to know the night of Porto from inside. We had a local guide called Helder, he was very nice and funny. After the bar crawl he went to the disco with us. The disco was very aesthetic, beautiful and with a great atmosphere. In short, it was a success.

Thank God, everything went perfectly and it was a special happy birtday. We will never forget it. On the other hand, Claudia was fascinated and that was the best gift we could give her…
